Bankstown Sports Group invested in the ViewSonic all-in-one 135″ LED display for a screening of the horse race at a new rooftop bar in Sydney and plans to transport it to events at other venues.

The owner of a new bar in Sydney has invested in a ViewSonic LDS135-151 All-in-One Direct View LED Display Solution Kit to establish the Lady Banks Rooftop as one of the city's prime entertainment venues.

The Bankstown Sports Group – which has more than 100,000 active members, as well as 13 dining and entertainment venues across Sydney – wanted to host a public viewing of the Melbourne Cup horse race, one of Australia's biggest sports events.

The venue features an open-plan space with indoor and outdoor seating. As it is bathed in lots of natural light, using a traditional projector or a large TV screen to broadcast the event would have meant poor visibility. Moreover, the venue's manager didn't want to disturb the arrangement of the space with a fixed installation that would be used only for special occasions.

After a lot of research, Bankstown Sports Group decided to invest in a ViewSonic's 135″ display. The frameless all-in-one solution – which can be operated by anyone, without the need for extensive training – provides high-level luminosity and true-to-life colours, enhanced by the greater visibility offered by the array of LED

With its foldable screen and omnidirectional wheels, the LDS135-151 can easily be moved within a room. Delivered pre-assembled in a flight case, it is convenient to transport from one location to another. Built-in OS and Wi-Fi enabling wireless content sharing without the need for additional equipment.

The Bankstown Sports Group plans to build on the success of the Melbourne Cup broadcast by transporting the display for events at other venues. The group's marketing team also uses the LDS135-151 to promote upcoming events.

There are also plans to acquire more ViewSonic solutions, including wall-mounted all-in-one LED displays.

Bankstown Sports Group's IT manager, Joseph Succar, says: "We wanted something that could be moved to different locations. We had never seen anything like the ViewSonic All-in-One Direct View LED Display Solution Kit before. But when we walked past and saw someone folding the screen, we knew it was the right one for us."
